Technology

St. Mary School offers technology integrated into all subject areas at all levels from Kindergarten through 8th Grade. With our mobile Mac computer lab, teachers can bring technology right into their classroom. Our computer lab, adjacent to the Discovery Hall, has 33 MacBook Air laptops along with a color and black and white printer. For teacher and student convenience, additional color and black and white printers are located throughout the building.

Each classroom from K-8 has a set of Chromebooks for students to use. Our students use G Suite for Education (Google Apps). The core G Suite of applications allow students to collaborate on documents and projects, seamlessly save them and allows access from any device with an internet connection. An iPad cart is located in the Kindergarten and 1st grade classrooms for their use. Preschool students share these iPads as well. Students in 2nd grade have a cart of Kindles. There is an additional mobile cart of iPads in the Discovery Hall for student use. Apps requested by teachers are loaded onto the Kindle and iPads.

Every classroom, including Preschool, is equipped with an Interactive Whiteboard that allows teachers to present lessons in an exciting way, engaging students in the learning process.

St. Mary School students create daily news broadcasts using Green Screen technology, and then distribute the programs to classrooms via a closed circuit TV channel. Students also produce projects for their classrooms using the Green Screen equipment.

The newest addition to our technology line-up are two state-of-the-art 3-D desktop computers, know as zSpace. This amazing technology allows students to move and interact with objects on the screen. Several science modules provide lessons and activities for teachers and students in Earth, Space, Life, and Physical Sciences as well as Art and Math.
