Snow Day Procedures
ALL CLASSES AND ACTIVITIES ARE CANCELLED Wednesday, March 5, 2008 due to the weather.
Snow days and or inclement weather procedures for St. Mary’s follow those of the Berea City School District. When the Berea City Schools are closed due to weather related issues, so is St. Mary’s. We do not follow the closing schedule of the Catholic Schools in the City of Cleveland.
If the Berea City Schools are open, but the school district that provides your child’s bus transportation is closed, you are responsible for getting your child to and from school on that day. Our Extended Care program will be open at 6:30am to help take care of your children as you drop them off. After school, you can pick your children up as late as 6:00pm. Where’s the worst weather on earth?
The Mount Washington Observatory on top of the 6288’ tall Mt. Washington in New Hampshire has some pretty nasty weather. Here are some statistics:
Highest temperature recorded: 72 degrees Fahrenheit – August 1975
Lowest temperature recorded: -47 degrees Fahrenheit – January 1934
Most snow in a season: 566.4 inches – 1968-69
Highest recorded wind: 231 mph – April 1934 (World Record)
